Friends of Blue Water Grill & Raw Bar-
If we squint, we might be able to see light at the end of the tunnel. With that in mind, we are planning for the summer, and possibly better times. This has given us a chance to reflect and we want to thank some folks for getting us through the first year of this crazy pandemic.
First, we want to thank our employees. The Blue Crews rocked it. You showed up and followed protocols – even though you had your own private fears. Customers could sense your big smiles behind those masks. You juggled fewer tables, less earnings, and often timid customers muffled behind masks. For everything you did, and continue to do, we thank you!
We also want to thank our customers. Without you, we don’t exist. You showed up following the protocols, and you kept the lights on. If you were a take-out customer, you tolerated the less than crisp fries (from steaming), an occasional forgotten item, and the busy phone lines. However, you were loyal, and we stand and cheer each and every one of you. For those of you that wanted to eat outside, we thank you for huddling under the heaters, wiping the drizzle away, and keeping a smile on your face. Thanks for your hardiness and for your North Face wardrobe. You helped keep us alive.
If your name is Dr. Shelia Davies, we thank you, thank you, thank you! You tolerated our many phone calls, helping us “get it right”. You have guided the Outer Banks and we think you should get the Citizen of the Year Award. Thank you, Dr. Davies.
If you are a healthcare worker or a first responder, you provided the Outer Banks with a knowledgeable platform, helping us through these tough times.
If you are a mom or dad that has provided your kids an education, we salute you. Hopefully our half-off wine and beer nights have helped you. Again, we might see that proverbial light at the end of the tunnel, however, never fear, we will continue half-off nights until the season checks in.
And finally, if you are the Outer Banks of North Carolina…………you are a great place to live. Thank you for being a rough and tumble sandbar- the place we call home.
Sincerely,
